Prescription Drug Plans

Prescription drug coverage is one of the most utilized components of the Chambers Plan extended health care benefit. In fact, prescription drugs account for almost $0.70 of every claim dollar paid.

Most health options use the ASSURE Card™, providing employees and their dependents with immediate reimbursement - right at the pharmacy.

Paramedical Practitioner Services

Chambers Plan health options cover many paramedical practitioner services. These services are covered, at the usual and customary level of charges, with maximums from $250 to $600 per person per type of service over the course of a calendar year.

  • Audiologists
  • Chiropractic care
  • Podiatrist and chiropodists
  • Massage therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Physiotherapy
  • Licensed Speech therapy
  • Licensed clinical psychologists
  • Naturopaths, not including food or vitamin supplements
  • Osteopaths
  • Clinical Dieticians

Medical Equipment and Supplies

Additional coverage includes the following:

  • Up to $25,000 per person towards home nursing care
  • Emergency ground or air ambulance to the nearest hospital
  • Up to $700 per person towards the purchase and installation of a hearing aid

Emergency Travel Insurance for Your Employees and Their Families

Emergency travel insurance for employees and their dependents are included in every Chambers Plan health option. Travel insurance includes coverage for eligible expenses resulting from a medical emergency outside your province of residence such as:

  • Licensed transport to the nearest hospital equipped to offer needed treatment
  • Hospital medical services including needed supplies
  • Physician care
  • Prescription drugs

Emergency travel insurance is provided by Voyage Assistance who will not only coordinate the services required for the medical emergency, but also can make the following services available to ensure peace of mind during an illness abroad:

  • Telephone translation services
  • Emergency medical funding and evacuation/transportation
  • After hospital care and nursing
  • Returning dependent children to their home
  • Trip Interruption / Return of Vehicle

Vision Care (Glasses, Contacts, Eye Surgery)

Chambers Plan offers up to $200 of vision care benefits per individual. Available once in a 24-month timeframe for adults and once in a 12-month timeframe for children—claims can be made for glasses – frames or lenses, contacts, or laser eye surgery.

Included in all extended health care options, employees and their families will also have access to Preferred Vision and Hearing Services (PVS), providing savings on hearing and vision products and services.
